Ketocheck, a rapid detection kit for ketosis is a colorimetric test which measures urine ketone bodies, especially β-hydroxy butyrate which comprises 70% of the total ketones. Reaction of the reagents provided in the assay with the sample (urine/serum) resulting in developing of a yellowish-orange color indicates the presence of ketones that can be visualized immediately. The intensity of yellowish-orange color formation is proportional to the amount of ketones present in the urine sample. The dark green color indicates the absence of ketone bodies in urine. Limit of detection (LOD) – 2 mM.
